The main culprits on my pc seem to be Gator & SeekSeek.
I often get unwanted e mail & have been wondering how to fix it.
Sometimes my screen freezes as well so I have to reboot.

Gator is another big culprit.
As far as the screen freezes go, it may not be caused by spyware. These freezes could be caused buy a number of things. Next week when I have more time on my hands I will do a thread on possible causes and remedies that may help.

Curio I agree with AB - sounds like you have a memory problem - like in your video card - screen memory.
Easiest way is to reduce your amount of open windows.
Usually helps. If you have a PC - increase ram on your video card or but something like Nivida 128 mb ram or of course more ... and your kid(s) will love you to play games with

One of the big culprits is the shareware (free) version of Kazaa.
As they rely heavily on advertising a lot of garbage comes with their download.

Try KazaaLite is the same prog, but with all the spyware striped out
