A huge thank you to all! This information is invaluable!
At least I know where I will be wasting money and where not.
One thing... about terry towel nappies, do you get them in this country? I have had a look at Mother-world and babies r us and didn't see them there....
I was given a pack of 10 terry nappies as a gift & they were from Mother Care. I've seen them in several of the larger stores, including Woolworths. They are very pricey, about £25 for 10.
Regarding the dummies & bottles. My advice would be to have one dummy (my son still loves his) & a couple of bottles to start. I had intended to breast feed & so didn't have any bottles. However, due to post natal health problems, I didn't produce enough milk & was only able to breast feed for about 2 weeks & then had to send my dad out to buy some bottles. Bottles are also handy for storing expressed breast milk. But if you can't or don't want to breast feed whilst still in hospital, the midwives keep a stock of ready made formula in disposable bottles.
