I have a friend over in Edinburgh who is big into making her own cards - she buys the stamps from a local craft shop then mixes and matches the designs to create her own unique birthday, Christmas, anniversary, etc cards.
Have any of you taken up this craft and if so, how are you getting on?

Are there any aspiring writers on GlobalBuzz - people who write their own poetry, are working on a short story or novel, write articles for magazines or newspapers or keep a regular diary?
It would be nice to hear from you - and perhaps we could share ideas/inspiration that has helped make the practise of this craft a bit easier for us?

3D Decoupage |

Do any of you practise this as a hobby? My sister got into it when she was in SA and made some beautiful pieces - a herd of zebra, a stampeding elephant, arum lilly, etc.
The selection of pictures to work with up here is not that inspiring - all traditional teddy bears and country cottages. I have heard that you can make your own 3D decoupage from photos - has anyone tried this?

My cousin is coming over (from South Africa) soon on a business trip to work at her company in Nottingham or Northampton. She is coming over for 6 months and needs to rent a flat or studio. Can anyone suggest any good website for me to forward to her.
Thanks

Cat Messing in the House |

As most of you are aware, we have a three-legged, vegetarian cat (don't ask). Recently he has taken to doing no 2's in the house. At first it was just around his litter box when it was full (he is a busy chappie) but now, even when the box is cleaned out he is messing around it rather than in it.
We have bleached the floor thoroughly to remove any trace of smell but he is persisting with this bad habit.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to break this cycle of bad behaviour?

Question re Celery |

I recall in South Africa you used to get two types of celery - the regular type with the blanched stems, and a smaller plant that was known as soup celery and was used as its name implies in soups and stews. It was a different plant having thinner stems and more leaves than the usual type.
I am curious to know if anyone has encountered soup celery here - I have only seen the tall one that is grown for its stems and made use of what leaves I could get off it for soups and stews, but would much prefer the type I was accustomed to in SA.
