Help If You Cant Get Into Chat
Posted by: angelbabe - 06-01-2004, 11:40 PM - Forum: Live Chat - No Replies

When you click on the chat button and the accept rules, you may get a popup asking you if you want to install java you MUST CLICK YES ... it wont harm your pc. Smile If however you did not click yes, just log out of the globalbuzz website completely and re log in, click chat button and accept rules. You should get the pop up again asking you to accept the java, or the page that gives you the option to enter nic and password.

If you still dont have any joy ...... try the following :

TOOLS,INTERNET EXPLORER, then see temporary files .... click on delete files.

Go to "Tools | Internet Options..." from the main menu of your browser
Change to the "Security" tab
Click "Custom Level..." button
To enable: make sure "Disable Java" is not selected under "Java."
It is also possible that your safety is set to high. You may need to select a lower setting. Read the cautions before changing from "High safety" to Medium or low.
Restart the browser

OR

click SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL ... have a look there, there should be a teacup. If it is not there, you may have to install the java. from http://java.com/en/download/help/auto_install.jsp

AOL browsers may also cause problems with chat..... see the link i have posted below.

Here is a usefull link. http://java.com/en/index.jsp when you get there, click on help or FAQ. This should help you to see what the problem is and hopefully fix it. Smile

FIREWALLS and POPUP ZAPPERS

Some firewalls dont allow java, so you may have to add the chat url to the allow list in your actual firewall. The same applies if you have a popup buster. You will have to add chat url to your allow list on your popup buster.

Hope this helps Smile

  Why Live Chat?
Posted by: angelbabe - 06-01-2004, 05:05 PM - Forum: Live Chat - Replies (1)

When I first got a pc at home I never imagined that one could actully have online friends. Then I discovered live chat. At first I was a lurker Â… just sat there and watched all these people chatting away. After a while thanks to some nudging I started to say a few things. It did'nt take me long to get the hang of it and a year later I have made some really good online friends. Some of them I have met in person and we get together from time to time and have some good old fun.

I have found that when you are in a live chat, you get to know people on a more personal level Â… well, as personal as it can get in cyber world. We have had virtual parties in the chatroom, and we have been there to comfort and encourage each other through bad times and we have celebrated good times. I know of a few people who have met in chat and are now happily together in real life.

Naturally there will be the odd wierdo who logs in and is on the pull and we need to bear that in mind and use common sense when it comes to giving out personal information like telephone numbers, email addresses etc. The chatroom has been set up to ensure you are safe as far as we could make itÂ…. The rest is up to your common sense.

There will also be 2 moderators. They will be Mod1 and Mod2. The @ in from of their nics means that they have operator status. They are there to help you, so donÂ’t be shy to ask for help if you need it.

Right lets CHAT

IS circumcision of a new born a form of child abuse?
Posted by: Jemlet - 06-01-2004, 10:40 AM - Forum: Parenting and Children - Replies (51)

In the UK routine circumcision is discouraged on the NHS but is still practiced by religious communities.

In the US most hospitals automatically assume that you would want your male child circumcised.

IS circumcision a form of body mutilation and hence a form of child abuse?

  Holiday Visa Jobs?

My little niece will be coming to the UK shortly on a working holiday visa. Does anyone know where we can look out for a job for her? Any advice will be appreciated.

My little knowledge that I have gathered so far is that the best way to start is in a pub ... from there things can go very quickly.

I am not based there but what I remember for a "previous forum".

Hope she get's what she wants soon afterwards Oi Big Grin
