Our local high school is fairly sports-minded. Half the students play soccer, 20% play basketball. There are 99 taking sports, 24 taking both.
What is the total enrollment of the school?

If 70% - 24 (don't want to add them twice) = 99, then 70% = 123
123 is 70% of 175.7....

If 70% - 5 = 65 then 70% = 70, 70 is 70% of 100, and there are 100 in my school....(50 play footy, 20 basketball) ...I think...

175 in schooll means 87.5 footy, 35 basketball, total 98.5 play sport
(87.5 + 35 - 24)
176 in school means 89 footy, 35.6 basketball, total 100.6 play sport
(89 + 35.6 - 24)
So I stand by my answer of 175.7 and a bit......
